WON'T THE ADDED WEIGHT DAMAGE MY OPENER?
Most garage doors won't experience any trouble with a fully installed system!
Our GarageSkins systems will add approx. 25 lbs to a single car door, and 50 lbs to a double car door. While this is in the tolerance range of most opening systems, we strongly recommend that once you've installed our panels, you contact a local garage door pro to check your door for balance and retension your springs if needed.
Please note that there are older openers that have only 1/3HP of power, these will most likely not handle the additional weight, even with your springs tightened, and we recommend upgrading to a 1/2 HP opening motor.
Can I install it myself?
Our GarageSkins systems can be installed by most customers in under 1 hour.
Simply take them out of the box and install them in the order in which they're packaged. The panels magnet right to your garage door with ease.
Will it hold up in heat/rain/snow?
Our systems are coated with a thin layer of UV-resistant material, making them durable in rain, snow, sun, heat, and cold!
